“Hey! my name is Jessica Kreskay. I am a member of the Australian Air Force Cadets and a Student Ambassador for the One Giant Leap Australia Foundation. Now that I have graduated from school I wish to pursue a career either in the Space Industry or the Defence Force but relating back to Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). I am the team leader of the Gadget Girlz. Our first opportunity was the KIBO Robot Programming Challenge. I encouraged other girls to join my team, later finding out we all had little to no knowledge in programming, coding or robotics. In the beginning, the girls started to stress and contacted me about their concerns that we wouldn’t win or that we were not good enough. I replied back, “It will make us stronger as a team and our participation shows other people that you can always achieve your goals.” Our aim as an all-girls team is to try our best and motivate other young women to reach their own goals and full potential.”
